Custom handmade rug after Robert Delaunay‘s painting Rythme Sans Fin
This runner rug feels like motion caught mid-breath. A rhythmic beat rendered in colour and form. You can sense it moving — yet it holds still just long enough to ground a hallway or passage with quiet intention.
Inspired by Robert Delaunay’s Rythme Sans Fin, this runner rug plays with contrast in the most elegant way: halves and wholes, dark and light, cool blues and greens meeting warm tangerines and soft neutrals. The sequence of circular segments down the centre creates a pulse, like steps in time — measured, graceful, infinite.
This is not just a design piece, it is a poetic intervention. It turns an in-between space into a destination. Whether in a minimalist corridor, a colour-rich gallery, or a serene private residence, it brings presence — and a feeling of thoughtful movement.
Entirely handmade, and available as a hand tufted or hand knotted runner rug. The vertical composition lends itself beautifully to textiles. Custom sizes and colours welcome.

About the artwork this rug is inspired on: Rythme Sans Fin
Delaunay’s Rythme Sans Fin is part of his continued fascination with the relationship between music, colour, and movement. Here, the rhythm is not metaphorical — it is visible. Each half-circle interacts with the next, creating momentum across the surface. The palette is bright and intentional, with a natural intelligence that feels playful and refined at once.
About the artist: Robert Delaunay
“The idea of the vital movement of the world and its movement is simultaneity.”
Robert Delaunay
Robert Delaunay (1885–1941) was a French painter whose joyful exploration of colour and movement helped shape the very foundations of modern abstract art. A visionary among the pioneers of the early 20th century, Delaunay saw colour as something living — not merely a pigment on canvas, but a force that could express rhythm, light, and the spirit of modern life.
His signature style, later called Orphism, weaves together geometry and luminosity with a musical sensibility — paintings that feel as if they are pulsing, breathing, almost dancing before your eyes. As art critic Robert Hughes once wrote, “Delaunay’s art was a continuous exploration of the vitality, power, and sheer beauty of colour.”
During his lifetime, his work was shown in leading exhibitions across Europe and the United States. Today, his paintings continue to energize rooms and minds alike — not only through their dazzling chromatic balance but through the sensation they leave behind: a sense of openness, optimism, and possibility.
