Custom handmade rug after Robert Delaunay‘s painting Rhythm 2
This rug brings a unique kind of clarity — joyful, fresh, and deeply grounded. There is a sense of movement here that does not shout, it flows. The bold contrast of black and ivory circles anchors the composition, while arcs of rich colour — cobalt blue, sunflower yellow, tomato red, and pale mint — expand outward like sound waves.
Inspired by Robert Delaunay’s Rhythm 2, this handmade rug is all about balance and vitality. It plays with repetition and symmetry, yet never feels predictable. The diagonal progression keeps your eye engaged, and the use of curved forms against the soft beige background creates a wonderful sense of dimension.
It is a rug that transforms space. Not just by decorating it, but by shifting the feeling within it. Whether placed in a creative studio, a serene entryway, or a thoughtfully curated living room, it brings energy and presence — without ever overwhelming.
Available in hand tufted or hand knotted form, and fully customizable in size and palette to suit your interior.

About the artwork this rug is inspired on: Rhythm 2
Robert Delaunay created Rhythm 2 during a period of intense exploration of form and chromatic harmony. He was fascinated by how shapes and colours could express motion and light, much like a musical score composed in visual terms.
This piece reflects his belief in rhythm as an essential principle of both life and art. The repeated circular forms suggest continuity and transformation. The way the colours curve and overlap is almost like a conversation — between stillness and energy, geometry and emotion.
When translated into a rug, this conversation continues on a tactile level. You do not just look at the rhythm, you feel it — in the fibers, in the colours, in the space it inhabits.
About the artist: Robert Delaunay
“Seeing is in itself a movement.”
Robert Delaunay
Robert Delaunay (1885–1941) was a French painter whose joyful exploration of colour and movement helped shape the very foundations of modern abstract art. A visionary among the pioneers of the early 20th century, Delaunay saw colour as something living — not merely a pigment on canvas, but a force that could express rhythm, light, and the spirit of modern life.
His signature style, later called Orphism, weaves together geometry and luminosity with a musical sensibility — paintings that feel as if they are pulsing, breathing, almost dancing before your eyes. As art critic Robert Hughes once wrote, “Delaunay’s art was a continuous exploration of the vitality, power, and sheer beauty of colour.”
During his lifetime, his work was shown in leading exhibitions across Europe and the United States. Today, his paintings continue to energize rooms and minds alike — not only through their dazzling chromatic balance but through the sensation they leave behind: a sense of openness, optimism, and possibility.
