Poised and powerful in its simplicity, this custom handmade rug translates Kandinsky’s Conclusion (1926) into a tactile meditation of form and balance.

On a twilight-hued ground, a pyramid composed of warm rust, amber, sienna, and indigo triangles rises quietly. Above it, a perfectly round crimson orb hovers in a luminous violet sky—serene yet commanding.

Nineteen shades are meticulously custom-mixed and hand-dyed into our premium yarn to create this nuanced composition. The result is a rug that feels at once architectural and spiritual—anchored, and yet ethereal.

Woven either as a handtufted rug or in Tibetan knotting, this piece is a tribute to stillness, symmetry, and the language of geometry. Whether placed in a meditative space, a serene bedroom, or a refined entryway, it draws the eye—and the mind—toward a quiet sense of resolution.

Kandinsky’s Conclusion (1926): Geometry, Color, and Bauhaus Balance

Wassily Kandinsky’s Conclusion (1926) was created during his Bauhaus years, a period in which he deepened his exploration of symbolic geometry and the expressive power of abstract form. In his book Point and Line to Plane, published the same year, he described composition as the disciplined arrangement of “vital forces” held within each element — a principle clearly reflected in this work.

Here, the pyramid and circle are more than compositional devices—they represent a harmony of opposites. The triangle, pointing upward, evokes aspiration and clarity. The circle, calm and contained, represents wholeness and infinity. Set against a gradation of deep violets and blues, the work speaks of elevation, closure, and inner stillness.

Like its title, the composition feels distilled and contemplative — a refined harmony of opposites and one of Kandinsky’s most architectural abstractions.

About the artist: Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) is widely regarded as a pioneer of abstract art. Trained in both law and painting, his path led him from Moscow to Munich, from figuration to pure expression—eventually becoming one of the first artists to fully embrace abstraction.

For Kandinsky, colour and form were not just visual tools but vessels of feeling, rhythm, and inner truth. His works are compositions of movement and meaning—harmonies painted like music.

He taught at the Bauhaus alongside Klee and Schlemmer, leaving a lasting legacy on modern art and design. His influence echoes in painting, architecture, and the language of abstraction itself.

“For Kandinsky, art was not just about creating beautiful objects, but about expressing spiritual truths and inner emotion through color and form.” – Vivien Greene, Senior Curator of 19th- and Early- 20th-Century Art at Guggenheim Museum.

Kandinsky’s work can be found in major museums around the world, including the Guggenheim in New York and the Lenbachhaus in Munich.

Now, his vision can live in your home as well—transformed into a one-of-a-kind handmade rug, created just for you.
